Our terms

What we make for you

Heirloom Pictures makes a short, hand-drawn music video for someone you love, from the story you tell us. You tell us the story; we write songs and you pick one; you shape the storyboard with us and lock it; we make the film; you get one round of notes on the first cut; then we deliver it on a gift link.

One film is $249; two films are $399. The price includes the song, the film, a vertical cut for phones, a short clip to share, and the rounds of notes described on our site. We send you a payment link once we have agreed to make the film, and we start when it is paid. [Payment terms to be confirmed with counsel.]

What you send us

• You tell us only what you're allowed to share, and you have the permission of the people in your story and photos (a parent's or guardian's for anyone under 18). We ask for this, person by person, when you send it.
• You still own your photos and your story. You let us use them only to make your film, and to deliver it. We don't use them for anything else, and we don't show your film to anyone else (for example, as a sample) without asking you first.
• Please don't send anything unlawful, or anything that's someone else's private information they wouldn't want shared.

The song and the film

• The film is yours to keep, watch and share with family and friends, and to post on your own social media.
• The song is licensed to you, not sold. Our songs are written with the help of AI music tools. We license the song to you for personal, non-commercial use with the film, as long as you like. We can't promise that anyone owns copyright in an AI-made song, and you can't register it, sell it or release it to streaming services as your own.
• If you bring your own song, you confirm you're allowed to use it, and you keep whatever rights you have in it.

Changes and timing

• Change the storyboard as much as you like before you lock it. Once it's locked we make the film, and you get one round of notes on the first cut.
• We aim to deliver within a week of receiving your story. If we're going to be late, we'll tell you.

The gift link and reactions

• Your gift link is private: anyone who has it can watch the film, so share it only with the people you mean to.
• The person who opens the gift can choose to record their reaction and send it to you. Nothing is recorded unless they choose to, and for a child's film only if you turn it on. You can delete reactions any time.
